Happy UDHR(Universal Declaration of Human Rights) Day!
Edited on Thu Dec-11-08 01:10 AM by Tiggeroshii
On this day, December 10, 1948, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was ratified by the United Nations. It was established as a basic foundation of human rights for every person, that should be respected by every government and institution who have some sort of power over individuals and the freedoms each individual has. These rights are universal from person to person, and work to withstand against violations of a person's well being based on religion, race, political orientation sexual orientation, etc.

I hope that all the people on this board recognize the significance of this day and have attended events or organized in their ways to express their solidarity and unity in that we are all people and we all deserve the most basic of these rights. If you haven't today, I hope you do so in your own way on other days and help educate yourselves and others on the importance of vocalizing our basic rights and responsibilities to have those rights recognize.

Nonetheless, I hope you all know about this day, the importance of this day and have done something that shares that importance.

Sincerely Yours,
Tigger

PS. I understand for the east coasters this day is well over. But it's importance lives on =)
