Some asshat stole my neighbors' NO MORE WAR sign last night.
My neighbors are two elderly ladies who have been together since they met during The Summer of Love, 1967. All around, the most beautiful couple I have ever known.

As soon as they heard the Drums of War starting to thrum, they placed a very simple sign at the corner of their property. Our lane is by no means a through street.

This morning, their sign was gone.

It makes me wonder. Are there really those out there who are genuinely against NO MORE WAR?

If there are, I'll bet they've never been shot at.

1. My friend in Kalamazoo, Michigan,
has had that sign out in his front yard since the invasion in March 2003, and he's had to replace it twice, but only because the colors bleached out. No one stole it.

He also has gone to a sizable demonstration against war that takes place in front of Kazoo's courthouse every Sunday morning since the invasion. I'm so proud of him.

In your neighborhood, who would steal such a sign? It had to be some yahoo from someplace else.

2. Probably. I've come across a number of people my age who see war as a good thing.
Of course, none of them have served, and I don't think they have immediately family members who are veterans.

5. We keep ours inside and use it when we do sidewalk protests.
There are a couple of diehard groups around
here that still go out for a couple of hours
a week.

I am happy that we still have ours.

Along with my Dean for American signs.

6. I'm sure that there are. The neo-con plan includes a state of perpetual war.
And I'm sure that they've never been shot at. If you remember, this administration, and many of the most outspoken pro-Iraq war fanatics, are those who never served, Chickenhawks...:grr:

My SO had his lawn signs messed with back in 2006. Turned out that the perp was a neighbor who claimed he hated Hillary Clinton. My SO, reasonably, pointed out that then he just shouldn't vote for her, but the guy claimed that he couldn't vote because he was a convicted felon...
