Has Shrub "grown" in appreciation of freedom of expression?!1 (The shoe throwing)
Actually, it's been Condo RICE who has made a statement or two over the years about people's right to dissent, and since we KNOW what a close, personal, intimate influence she has on Shrub, perhaps his saying that the shoe-thrower was exhibiting freedom is an outgrowth of it. (Heavy sarcasm.)

So, does his newfound respect for such things as the one finger salute (when directed at him, as opposed to HIS using it all his life) mean he would join us in civil liberties by advocating for flag-burning, OR, I submit that it is all his same old message of "Who cares what you think?!"

He ain't no late bloomer. He's a never-bloomer.

2. He is truly out of his mind. He rationalizes that someone from the press corps,
at a press conference, throwing a shoe is the same as people on the street flipping him the bird as he zooms by.

5. Apparently not, his "attacker" is in jail
and both journalists and Al Sadr residents are rallying in his support.

It will be interesting to see if this is the incident that unites them and causes them to concentrate on throwing us out instead of blowing each other up.
