Rick Warren at the Inauguration is like having David Duke being the keynote
speaker at the ADL, the KKK Grand Wizard opening up MLK day festivities, Andrew Dice Clay giving the key note at the national NOW convention, and Ted Nugent being Grand Marshall at the PETA parade.

To all of those talking about Obama trying bring divergent groups together, do the above make any sense to you? The logic being used here is the same.

Rick Warren is a homophobic bigot who wishes to strip basic rights away.

Obama, in having Rick Warren speak at his inauguration in such a public fashion, is teaching his little girls that hatred is OK. Too personal? Shouldn't bring Obama's family into it? Tell that to the families that are torn apart and hurt by the homophobia of Rick Warren and those like him.

2. it would be real amusing watching the OBAMACULT making
excuses for that one, how it is necessary politically/strategically and how we are "extreme left" and "purists" for criticizing it. :puke:

4. Trust me, the "chess game" metaphor has been dug up from the grave
already. The mold has been shaken off and the corpse has been sprayed liberally with Febreze.

It still stinks like a rancid abattoir.

9. As I said in another post
just because it looks like a sound strategy doesn't mean it's the right thing to do.

8. I had the same problem on the "Rec this Thread" Thread earlier...
:)

I wish folks would wake up and realize the severity of having Rick Warren there in such a public fashion.

It sends a hateful message to so many that no amount of "gays" in Obama's speeches can overcome.

10. NO, he's teaching his girls that you have to listen to everyone, even the haters.
In order to find a way to do what you think is best for everyone.

You can't just hear one side and dismiss the other. Or rather, doing so will keep you from finding a "Middle Way" that addresses the underlying concerns of two extremes.

He's also trying to teach them that being hated by someone isn't the end of the world, and you cannot let the fact that some people hate you stand in the way of your success. Even if you have to go around them, it doesn't mean you stop in your tracks.

12. Your logic creates a false equivalency here. The chickens do not listen
to the fox while he prepares them for dinner.

Why must people create this false equivalency? Should we listen to racists? Misogynists? Anti-semites now so as to not miss "the Middle Way"? No. Hell no.

Shameful.

Just shameful.

Shame on you.

14. LISTENING to someone is not the same
as giving that person an honored spot at your inauguration.
