The song and dance that they do just makes me sick...

The grand performance, put on for our viewing pleasure every day by the media, politicians, pundits, pollsters some bloggers and anyone inside the beltway and at the upper echelons of big business is so goddammed tiresome and maddening I can't see straight. I've had a bellyful, millions of us around the country have had a bellyful and just voting isn't enough.

They are all in it together. Everyone knows it and the big lie continues. What is the big lie? The big lie is that everything is on the up and up. It isn't actually one big lie, but thousands of lies bundled together and giftwrapped to the American public. Big business and politics are one and the same, and no one gets called on it by the media. Why not? Because we all know that the media IS big business. It is the biggest business of all, because it is used relentlessly to shape public opinion on everything from which brand of nuts to buy, to ramming illegal and immoral wars down our throats and waving a flag while they do it.

There is a revolving door in Washington, with a direct pipeline to Wall Street and everyone knows it. The SEC is a fucking joke and everyone knows that, too. In fact, every regulatory agency in the Bush administration is populated by former industry CEO's and the like. The Madoff case? It seems awfully funny that a member of the SEC is married to Madoff's daughter. Could that be why, when Madoff was investigated not too long ago he was cleared of any wrongdoing? But you won't hear about that on the MSM. No raised eyebrows, no spotlight on it by the media. They will tell us what we are supposed to care about.

Like vampires, the greedmongers of the high flying investment capital world suck the lifeblood out of the American taxpayer. We are paying for their sins. Our children will be paying for their sins. And what has happened? The greedmongers got rewarded, and none of them have been held accountable for bringing a world economy to its knees. And once again the MSM is M.I.A.. You don't see any of the mainstream news media educating the public on which policies failed to bring us where we are, or why it is that regulatory agencies have looked the other way at questionable investment and lending practices. None of the important things are ever focused on and brought to the public in an unbiased and responsible manner for the public to really understand. Instead, they focus on whether executives flew to Washington on private jets, or any number of peripheral things to keep the circus going and keep us distracted.

This country is adrift, and it has had , like the Exxon Valdez, a drunken idiot at the helm. Not only does Exxon own the Valdez, but it and others like GE, Haliburton, Brown and Root, etc... own this country, politicians, message shapers, news organizations and all. Because of them this country is broke...and broken in many places. A lot needs to be fixed. Some of it can never be fixed. But I don't see how ANY of it is going to get fixed until we come clean. Until we the people demand transparency AND accountability in business and in politics, I don't see how even a leader with the best of intentions will have any effect against the machine. The machine is a juggernaut, completely out of control. When you have whole contingents of people like Senator Richard Shelby, idiots with not so hidden agendas that run contrary to the well being of our national interest, and their motives go completely unscrutinized in the press, then maybe some of you who are smarter than me can tell me how Obama is going to unite everyone and accomplish the "change" he talked about so much?

I am sick of war. Let me repeat emphatically, I AM SICK OF WAR!!! And yet, I am afraid, and feel certain that it has become such big business that we may never see peace again. The U.S. always seems to have to have a bogeyman to raise a call to arms. The ex-Pentagon brass, who all land cushy jobs with defense dept. contractors have seen to that. They seem to be the ones making policy. Funny how we saw so little diplomacy from the State Dept....so little, it was non-existent.

We're all a bunch of suckers for buying into this shit, but what the fuck can we do, except commit what would surely be deemed treason? And who among us is really ready for that?

I mistakenly thought years ago that, once the big lies were exposed, then the whole thing would unravel and the country could be clean and on the road to recovery. I know now that the machine really doesn't concern itself too much whether the lies get exposed or not. The machine is so big and so dominant, that it knows there is a majority of Americans around the country that let the Rush Limbaughs and the Sean Hannity's of the the world do their thinking for them. The machine knows that it can go right along pumping out lies to the public and the public will believe them. And so it goes.

I really want to find a corner of the country to just zone out in and be left alone. Maybe if my novel sells well I can do just that.

Peace

As for the novel, it's easy. Just sit down and write one.

9. That's what my ex b-i-l has been doing for years. He keeps writing
about his one year in VN, but never wants his memories published.

5. Good luck with the novel.
You have discovered that money is a panacea that wil enable you to insulate yourself from the madness of our country, and you want in.

I can't blame you. I have a deep desire to hide "until it's over", and it's not going to be over. ever. But money would definitely help me ignore a lot of things.

6. It's a sad truth. The constraints of day to day living on the money
that my wife and I earn make us little more than modern day slaves.

admission to war crimes) there is no effective response.
