An honest question that I don't know the answer to. Perhaps because I can't find an answer anywhere, the answer might be "no." But if so, is it broken down by employees based in the U.S.?

I'm curious because it might certainly be eye-opening to see how many of one's co-workers are here on visas, H-1b or otherwise.

If you can point me to any official statistics in this area, I'd be most appreciative.

1. I think your question implies facts that are in dispute
The number of H-1 visas is capped at 65,000 per year.

There are nearly 18 million professional and business services workers in the United states, 137 million non-farm workers. You can see that, percentage-wise, the numbers are miniscule.

The real threat is not from foreign workers coming to the US to work, pay taxes, spend money in our economy and eventually become permanent residents (if they're lucky).

The real threat is from outsourcing of jobs outside the United States, where the workers are paid a fraction of US salaries, pay no US taxes, spend no money on our economy, and eventually become an establish competitive threat.

It is easy, when economic times are tough, to look for a scapegoat to blame, and foreign workers in the US are an easy target.

2. I think you still have to fill out an I-9 form and sate whether you are a citizen or not.

Immigration is allowed to view the forms
