The Republican Search for Self Better Find Something Quickly

While President Obama spends the next two years running the country, the Republican Party will take the time to figure out who it is.
Whichever one does a better job is likely to prosper in the 2010 mid-term elections.
If the Republicans are counting on Obama blunders and a continuation of hard economic times to ensure their return to power, they might be waiting for a long while.
It’s not that hard times might not continue, or that Obama won’t blunder.
They might, and he almost certainly will at some point.
But without a positive program for change — remember that word? — even if the GOP makes gains in the next election cycle, they won’t be sustainable over the long haul.
There is little debate about whether the Republican Party lost its way — it did.
