Bill Press' Comment: Karl Rove's Hand in NM?
Edited on Mon Jan-05-09 10:19 AM by radhika
On the Bill Press Show airing this AM on my LA affiliate KTLK, he raised an interesting point. Is the pay-to-play grand jury investigation of Dem Bill Richardson the fruit of Karl Rove's US Attorney replacement project. Note that NM USA David Iglesias was famously yanked for not playing ball and prosecuting Dems when there was no case. Note also the Dem Gov Don Seigelman case in AL, and now AL Mayor Larry Langford - another Dem - is being prosecuted. Are there any cases of Repugs indicted, charged or brought to justice. Think also the timing of Blagojevich and Spitzer's cases.

This merits some journalistic attention.

2. First Steps First...
Let's see what how the Richardson story pans out. Unfortunately, his quick withdrawl is like a smoke signal that the corporate media is sure to latch on (if not hate radio) and we'll have another trial by media coming up here. Forget the facts, the context or anything else...there's blood in the water.

Before I put a tin foil hat on, let's see how deep the Rover's involvement is/was in the Igelsias situation. There we have a solid connection as Rove was still in the White House calling the shots. He doesn't have the same power he once did...and if anything, is radioactive. Would you want to talk with this scumbag knowing the possibility the call may end up as part of a criminal investigation? Between the Igelsias situation, Siegleman's case in Alabama and other yet undisclosed stories (I expect more light to be shed on this after booooshie is gone to lead an serious retribution) of politicizing the judiciary, I expect Rove will not skate from this mess that easy and he has few friends to pull strings now.

Never, never piss off a prosecutor!
