6. While losing 1/3 of my net worth didn't make my day

even after I predicted it and chose to ride it out rather than follow the lemmings into t-bills, what really chapped me was Pelosi's failure to pursue even a token attempt at impeaching these bastards.

It's going to be seen as one of the monumental failures of our system in the future.

12. The weather....

Here in Iowa we had one of our worst tornado seasons on record. Of course the record floods in June. My town of @ 160K suffered somewhere over a billion dollars in damage alone. There are still many people without homes.....a slow rebuilding process.

I sincerely hope this wasn't a harbinger of the future with the weather.

17. 08 Sucked for my family

I was hospitalized for an throat infection that nearly killed me

My house burned down.

I had hip sure hip surgery (which still hurts)

My car was broken into

My wifes car was broken into

I wrecked my car I have had 12 years which had previously had not even a scratch

My house was burglarized. Twice...

All in all a crappy year..

About the second tuesday of Nov though a few good things began to happen.

08 was not my favorite year either- with the exception of the election


My favorite aunt passed away after a long battle with Alzheimer's which really truly sucks.

She was the last relative I have from the generation ahead of me in my family.

Lost a shit load of money- a lot of which was saved for my daughters college education which will start in September with or without money- with would have been much better.

I gained a co=worker who is the most miserable manipulative and none too bright person I have ever met and actively works to undermine everyone else there, so every day I have to watch my back all day which sucks mightily

And I gained 8 pounds which sucks because I'm short and it's like a normal person gaining 20.

So let's hope 09 is better
