Think of how depressed the country would be if McCain had won the election?

At least with Obama, we have a glimmer of hope that we can pull ourselves out of this mess. If McCain had won the election, I cannot imagine what people would be saying on DU? Or across the nation? But I do not believe they would be optimistic about anything.

We can complain and we have that right and I will continue to abuse that right, so long as I feel we can do better. But, if McCain had won the election, I would have given up hope for our country. We had to change. We had no choice. Obama gives us that thin thread to grasp.

If McCain had been elected, we would probably be arguing about how much of a taxcut to give to big business, since they create the jobs in this country. There would have been chaos in the House and Senate. We would have been much worse off. I am thankful to the American people for voting for the chance to survive.

I don't know what Obama can do, but I am confident that he is intelligent and capable, and will make the best-informed decisions possible. Nothing like that was true of Bush or McCain. With Obama as pres, we're all in this together. Were McCain in office, we'd have the same horror as we had with the shrub, but ten times worse.

I was sadly deluded into thinking that there would be some kind of populace movement to push for the needs of our society. That is obviously not going to happen. But it should make great tv.

And McCain's PNAC and Neocon handlers would already be planning for his "death" so President Palin could take over within 6 months.
