Here's a hint for that stupid fuck: They wouldn't have had to be rescued from their roofs...
If he had promptly responded to that disaster in the first place. A hurricane is more predictable than a tornado or some other rapid natural disaster, you can do things to prepare for it. The best solution to rescue someone from a roof, is to evacuate them before the storm even arrives.

The people on those roofs were people who didn't have the means to get out of New Orleans before Katrina hit, those were the people who could have been sent out on trains, buses and in car pools. They weren't, however, and they had to be rescued after the storm.

To be sure some of those people decided to stay behind of their own free will, but probably not most.

THAT'S WHY WE CRITICIZED HIM!

I'm so glad this brainless fuck will be out of office soon.

1. I am proud of him today.
He finally wiped his own ass... with his own face today, and did it quite successfully. Heck of a job bushitler. Heck of a job.

2. I can't wait tell someone with some authority starts to ask why
the disaster relief plan for that state was taken out of the state.

5. I have to admit, the clips I saw on 1600 today were fascinating.

What a miserable piece of offal. He didn't do shit except worry about his own PR problem because of his administrations absymal failure in doing their fucking jobs. Then the mother fucker outsourced the basic humanitarian tasks to his corporate cronies, who profitted from death and misery. There will be an accounting because that is how the Universe works.

We must never forget what he did to the people of New Orleans. I don't give a fuck what skin color they had or what "Parrish" they were from. They were my American brothers and sisters, and Bush and his incompetent cronies left them to die. It was a crime of the highest order. I'll never forget driving from work, listening to NPR and finally screaming at the top of my lungs and crying at the horror I was listening to. The emotional damage is done. History will NOT be rewritten by the People of the Lie this time around. Not as long as I and my children, grandchildren and great grandchildren breathe air.

6. I remember watching nearly 24/7 during Katrina...
Edited on Mon Jan-12-09 08:44 PM by originalpckelly
I only fell asleep involuntarily. It was so shocking to me to see this happening. I remember the sounds of gunshots, the way an American city looked filled with water, as if it were some kind of model submerged in a bath tub.

None of us who care will ever forget it, and we must make sure he is brought to some kind of justice.

7. This was at a time I didn't watch tv...
Edited on Mon Jan-12-09 08:50 PM by liberalmuse
but Jesus, the radio reports were bad enough. I was further shocked once I had tv to see the pictures. Oh my god. This one thing shattered all my illusions about America. To see people left to die by a callous, incompetent administration will forever be seared in my memory.

Thank you for sharing. God I love you, and I honestly mean that, because you understand and give a shit. Sadly, that is not a common thing, though I do know that Katrina woke up the large part of America that still has a soul. As bad as this sounds, fuck the rest.

9. It goes even farther back than that
Those people wouldn't have been on their roofs if the Bushistas (as well as Congress) had been listening to scientists who have been screaming about how woefully inadequate the levee system are, how the disappearance of thousands of square miles of wetlands in the Mississippi delta make southern Louisiana even more vulnerable, and how the Mississippi River Gulf Outlet would funnel water directly into New Orleans in the case of a hurricane. But you know, he prefers the faith-based approach to government: ignore it, and pray it will go away.

12. Exactly....they invested in war rather than infrastructure.
Choices have consequences. The need to build up the levees and install better pumps were delayed so Bush could get his war on with Iraq. Maybe a truth commission will explain this to the dimbulbs who voted for Bush.

we should run him out of town on a rail

he didn't mention the soldiers who died from his unnecessary war or the innocent iraqi civilians that we permanently liberated

i didn't sense a shred of remorse for his life ending 'mistakes'
