W: Biggest Presidential Failure IN HISTORY
Edited on Mon Jan-12-09 10:23 PM by Beetwasher
Now, before you get on me about how the criminals behind the admin accomplished a great deal, I agree. However, I would argue that Chimpy himself was an enormous failure in his appointed position in the organization.

Chimpy was hired to be a likeable figurehead and master manipulator and liar, like Reagan. Except, he's a shitty, transparent liar/manipulator/figurehead, he just gets away with it because of his powerful friends and media support. He's a total failure at everything he does. Granted, the people behind him accomplished a great deal, but Bush was terrible at his appointed job. He took 90% approval ratings and drove them into a ditch and at the end of his term he has completely demolished the Republican party and become pretty much widely known as the "worst President ever". I don't think that was part of the plan.

Imagine what a good liar and figurehead like Reagan could have accomplished with what Chimpy was given? Or Clinton? (as much as I love Clinton, you have to admit he was a great liar and manipulator, though not merely a figurehead). The Repubs still may have lost the Presidency this time around, but like in '92, when the first Bush lost, they were probably hoping for a comeback at SOME point. Right now, that is VERY unlikely anytime in the foreseeable future because of how shitty Chimpy was at his job and at how incredibly reviled he and the Repub party have become.

2. You'll get no arguments from this corner.
I hold Bush 100% responsible for his 8 year disaster of a Presidency.

4. it's a Shame
He's a power-monkey yeah, but he was also (s)elected by the US to be our president.. in one of the most important times in our/the world's history. Until I die I will blame the sad state of the world on him and the people who (s)elected him. Until my last day.

14. It was ALL of us
We LET it happen, all of us. I do find myself hating on Florida once in a while but everyone's just used Florida to place the blame.
It was the whole US that allowed this (:patriot:)

6. Guy doesn't even get that, even if he couldn't change his mind, if he could at least
demonstrate that he genuinely understands the whole spectrum of an issue, he might at least be seen as somewhat more justified in his position.

11. You just wait
Come 2012 or before, they'll drag out Jeb! the Smarter, and come up with a catchy campaign slogan like "Third time's the charm!", and 45% of the American people will swallow it immediately.
