9 hours to go and I can't sleep.
Edited on Tue Jan-20-09 03:06 AM by lapfog_1
And I want to be up early to catch the pre-inauguration festivities.

What to do? Sleep a little and wake up early or try to stay up all night.

I am really wanting the entire day today to be OVER... and at the same time I want it to last and last.

I want it over because I am still nervous that a "lone wolf" wing nut (he is a terrist, I tell ya!) Sarah Palin supporter will try to get a shot at him. I want it to last because it's been a long long 8 years, even longer than Ronny Rayguns / Bush I's 12 years... they were bad, but I didn't hate my government then and I didn't hate all Republicans then, I simply disliked the policies implemented. But after what they did to Clinton, and now what they've done to MY government and our nation... I hate them with a burning passion. One that won't go away until they are all gone and their theories about everything (economic, health care, foreign policy, cultural policies, etc, etc) are totally discredited and universally derided.

And that won't happen by tomorrow, or even 4 years from now. Maybe not in my lifetime.

But today I can celebrate that the destruction of all they stand for STARTS, and not only the destruction but the replacement of it with new ideas and new hope for the future.

2 million people will be in Washington D.C. today to celebrate President Obama. But I'm still nervous about it.

And I still can't sleep.

1. me too :)
After they talked about the "chatter" from the white supremicists, i was like oh no...mainly i am up because i am just excited for this. i can't wait to watch this. My aunt made 1/20/09 tshirts in 2006 for this event, and i still have it and i am going to wear it. It is going to be an amazing day, make some tea and just snooze a bit if you have to...its going to be a great day :)

7. Wonder what triggered him/her to make their first post to

my "sleepless in Arizona" thread?

Weird.

Never can make much sense out of their ramblings.

(edit to add)

Now that he/she has responded directly to one of my posts in this thread, I alerted the admins.

Not much will be done right away because I suspect they had a few drinks last night. And after they wake up I suspect they will go to the inauguration... and then some more parties, and then to bed for a day... and so forth.

But eventually they will read their email and get on it.

I think I'll probably be up most of the night. TOO excited to sleep! And besides, I'm afraid to go off to sleep - I don't wanna miss anything!

8. yeah, I'm one time zone over (now that it's winter)
in the spring/summer/fall we are in the same time zone.

Coming up on 8 hours till inauguration... and I want to watch at least an hour or more of stuff before that.

In two hours I could turn on "Morning Joe" but the thought of that horseshit just makes me :puke:

Oh well, I guess I'll stay here on DU until 8am my time and then start channel surfing.

12. I think it might be deviously delicious to watch that smug putz, who - today - has NOTHING
to be smug about!

It'll be fun to watch him trying to function with his screaming ego inside, being forcibly suppressed 'cause he knows he sided with the WRONG team.

I love the smell of republi-CONS self-immolating in the morning. And on THIS morning-of-all-mornings, the scent is bound to be intoxicating!

:toast: :headbang:  :woohoo:
