6. That occurred to me too, as I was watching it

And I've been one of the biggest critics of the Warren choice -- but it was kind of a symbol of the old presidency and being replaced by the new. So, I kind of softened on it.

I was also spurred on by the fact that Bush was booed out of town. The MSNBC feed clearly broadcast the "Nah-nah-nah . . . goodbye" song as Bush flew away. It couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.

However -- and this is what I've been afraid of -- I was watching Warren speak on the BBC feed and the commentator there reported "Rev. Warren is now America's chaplain." And I'm afraid that's how it's going to be perceived by a lot of people -- too many people.

9. Thanks, I noted that myself when it was announced...

when it was announced that he would give the invocation I realized the significance of the order, but in the furor I think a lot of people weren't able to step back from the appointment itself to see the impact it would have, particularly when viewed in totality with Obama's inaugural address and it's message, and then the benediction by Rev. Lowery.

I can see it now. Obama says, "I need an invocation given by someone who will really suck. Is Falwell available? .......He's Dead? Who knew. Get me someone like Falwell. Fat and Jowelly. and if you can get someone who looks like a cross between Jabba the Hut and Michael Savage, that'd be even better. ...Overall remember , He's got to REALLY suck!"
