I think we can start to ignore them. They are irrelevant to the work this country faces. They are jokes. They carry Bush on their backs. Not one of them has come up with a constructive solution to the problems we face and the people will make them pay for that.

7. You can be badly harmed by a Blank Pistol

This is an honest to god fact, blank pistols (or "Starter's Pistols" as they are sometimes known) discharge a rim-fire cartridge with no projectile to make their noise. However the explosion still has to vent and generally, while they don't have barrels, they have a relatively small drilled hole that faces forward and through which the hot gasses are expelled - its where most of the noise comes from too. Many of the cartridges use a 'wad' of some material to contain the very small charge of powder that is used for the explosive, could be clay, could be chalk, could be wax. At any rate it too is expelled and if it hits you it can do serious harm. I don't think you could kill anyone with a blank pistol but you could certainly blind someone. Just thought you'd like to know.
