Many rethugs are against the stimulus package. Has even one of them
contributed an alternative plan that's viable, or are they just doing what they do because they feel that's their only option?

I'm sure we'd all be interested in other opinions, but have any been offered?

7. How does cutting taxes help people without jobs and possibly
homes? Makes no sense; you're right.

2. More tax cuts for businesses as that will increase the number of jobs.
:sarcasm:

(We all know that claim has been made before and it has yet to work.)

10. Their 60-year tax-cut drumbeat has passed beyond the realm of superstition ...
... and now qualifies as a mindless delusion. There is absolutely no basis in reality that reducing a business' taxes on PROFITS (AFTER the expense of employee compensation) has even the slightest effect of INCREASING jobs. In fact, if anything, it's exactly the opposite. It's stunningly STUPID ... and betrays the predation of right-wing politicians on the most basic ignorance of the people seemingly influenced by such ridiculous claims. Anyone that buys into such idiocy is lacking the most fundamental understanding of business taxes and should probably have their high school diplomas revoked.

3. Just as a joke.... they should have put a small portion of money
towards subsidizing Oxycontin for talk show comedians. I wonder if Boehner would have complained about helping out one of his heroes.

4. Boehner doesn't need oxycontin. Viagra, yes, but not oxycontin...
The drug interaction would go to his head. Big-time. An addiction that lasts more than 4 hours...

8. Cut taxes, get government out of business and let her fly. They have
not learned a single thing from *ss's failure. They want business as usual.

11. The stimulus will do little to STOP the ongoing depression freight train.
Edited on Sun Jan-25-09 07:53 PM by Double T
Several things that will turn this economy and financial crisis around include heavy regulation and oversight of corrupt wall street and the criminal banking system, re-domesticating ALL the jobs sent to foreign slave and lower wage nations and capping all executive obscene compensation; wages, bonuses, expenses, etc.. The ongoing trade deficits month after month combined with ever increasing national debt and annual trillion dollar plus deficits will be enough to finish off the USA. While we're at it, legislation is required to limit the number of offspring an individual can have throughout their life regardless of the number of spouses or partners; limit 2. Since very few are REALLY SERIOUS about stopping the depression, the freight train will just keep rolling along till it hits the wall. Soon we will be the Peoples Republic of China, Western Province. The rethugs created this disaster and the rethugs sure as hell haven't got a clue about how to fix it; let's ask the fox how to stop the theft of the chickens from the chicken coop!!!!

12. Tax Cuts!!
And cut the entitlement class loose to fend for themselves.

Sorry, Grandma and Grandpa.

Privatize everything except the troops and downsize government drastically.

Deregulate the the free-market completely.

Increase defense spending and the size of the military.

Make Ayn Rand and Ann Coulter, amongst other selected conservative authors required reading in schools. Ban books that are considered to be liberal in subject matter.

Require IPs to filter out liberal websites and blogs on the internet in the US.

Make conservative talk, sports, classical and country music, as the only stations that may be broadcast on the radio.

Fox News as the only national TV news station.

Did I leave anything out??

13. Looks like the recipe for a Double Depression.
Scary part is the rethugs would believe in such a plan.
