Does anyone have a UMW contact?

I'm tired of watching people getting hurt and worse.

I want to start a union movement in my shop.Any suggestions?

1. Was your friend a miner?
I have two nephews who work in a non union mine. I don't know what happened to that union, I thought it was a powerful one at one time.

Good luck on organizing a union.

9. One of my nephews is a roof bolter
I HATE to hear that your bosses let a lot of stuff go as that puts my nephew's life at risk.

4. I'm so sorry. I don't know your situation, but I do know what a horror it is to find out
someone you cared about has died. It is a shock from the pit of hell. There's no eloquent way to put it.

Take care, and give yourself some space and time to adjust to accepting this. But I love your fighting spirit and wanting to make things right.

Go for it, and take care. Just take care of yourself too. Losing a close friend is hell.

My heart goes out to you.

14. I'm sorry about your friend. If you have ever filed anything, written letters, e-mails, made phone
calls, whatever, about that pinchpoint, start compiling copies NOW. Make a list of people who are with you -- truly, truly WITH YOU -- on this, and see if they have ever complained or filed a complaint or written a letter about that pinchpoint or any other violation/danger in the mine.

Call newspaper and tell them about what happened. See if they'll take anonymous source information (some papers won't). If you tell them you are afraid for your job and need to be anonymous, that might help.

I'm sorry, again, about your friend. If his death gets a mine organized, it will be something to remember.
