2 dead, 7 injured in Portland shooting

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -- A man opened fire outside an underage nightclub in downtown Portland, killing two girls and injuring seven other people before shooting himself in the head, police said.

1. Probably got all excited at the coverage of the shooting in Florida yesterday.
I just don't get this thing the US has with guns. I don't understand Canadians who are into guns either..unless they hunt and that I can understand.

Portland is typically a very pleasant, laid-back town. I've really enjoyed my visits there.

4. It is, I used to live across the border over in WA from there
but we'd see crime stories from Portland on the news quite a bit. I always felt more comfortable on the WA side of the Columbia River after dark.
