Why are we letting the Dems off easy, it's time to push to get the hell out of Iraq and Afghanistan. We have wasted enough lives and dollars on these futile wars. There is nothing left to 'win'.

1. The plan the get out of Iraq in 16 months is coming.
Obama is standing up to the brass on that one. It can't happen overnight.

However, in Afghanistan, we are going to 'surge'. Escalating with nearly double the troops, just as other countries are leaving, as well as more engagement of the militants and cross border attacks in Pakistan. Don't expect any quick action on getting out of Afghanistan.

3. It took the Russians nine years to get out of Afghanistan.
The parallels between Afghanistan and Vietnam are scary.

The steady increase of US deaths is troubling. And, yesterday, Biden warns us to brace for an 'up-tick' in US deaths. It has been a steady 'up-tick' for 5 years. This is an escalation and nothing more.

12. I didn't say that.
They are getting us out of Iraq. That is a good thing.

They are fucking up in Afghanistan, and should be pressured to end it.

Got it?

Do you really think it's possible to undo eight years of damage in the five full days he's been in office?

And sorry, we won't be leaving Afghanistan. Obama made that clear during the campaign and transition period.

so the responsible withdrawal he promised will not be performed by a magic wand.

11. You Just Don't Move 150,000 Troops Overnight...
Ya gonna get 'em all plane tickets? And to where?

Sheesh...President Obama's inherited a real mess that he's just starting to get a handle on. The costs...in lives, in a risk to our image and security and in hard dollars all but dictate a withdrawl...we can't afford to play world's policeman...but we need to do it without jeopardizing those troops.

Remember, we've gone 8 years with almost no diplomatic presence...restoring ties will allow for this withdrawl to happen sooner rather than later and to make sure our troops go out on their terms...not having to shoot their way out.

28. Maybe 'cause the Democratic Party ain't what people think it is.

Maybe it is not the less warlike party.

Maybe it ain't the 'party of the people'.

Maybe we've got little say in the matter.

Maybe we've been fooled again.

...the less the people in charge will feel like pussies.

I suspect that the people getting shot at may be of the opinion that if we're leaving, we should leave. But I could be wrong.

32. Because it will take more than 6 days to get out - once you include the planning.
What do you think will happen? Do you think Obama will send an E-mail to every soldier telling them to come home by the best way they can find and to be here before next friday?

There is planning to do, materials and equipment to bring home, soldiers to be transported and many a back to be covered as we leave. This does not happen in a week, or a month, and maybe not even in a year.
