Yes, the White House has decided to run ads letting constituents in each state know how their representatives voted on the stimulus bill. But, these ads will target BOTH Republicans AND Democrats (there were a few) that didn't vote for it.

That is as it should be. Obama's platform all along has been one of bi-partisanship. If he completely drops that after only TWO WEEKS in office, he will come across as looking impatient and/or dishonest. He should continue to at least appear to reach across the aisle, until it is apparent they will never ever return the favor.

I hate the Republicans, but can we honestly expect them to come around to our side after only two weeks? Get real!

1. HE can play the part of a bi-part president, but to actually expect the GOPers to "come around"
is nuts.

My hope is that he continues to neutralize them while working with the Dems in congress to accomplish as much as possible. And remember, their votes are NOT needed for passage, only for spinning the result as bi-part.

2. Whats the point of bipartisanship?
If the other party is wrong? Isn't that just adopting error for the sake of making people happy? More tax cuts!

Wasn't he supposed to be post-partisan (which is very different).

4. To give them the opening to cross-over to the good side...

He has to make it so there is an opening for common-sense Republicans to switch sides.

Treat them like human beings, and leave the door open to them.

it doesn't mean that Obama will compromise his principles.

5. You dont get it. Bipartisan is a code-word for pandering to both sides
And giving the minority opposition their demands. If their demands are anything similar to the filth that came out of the right, which brought on this mess, its wrong and not needed.

Post-partisan or non-partisan is probably the concept you are more likely looking for (which is normally attributed to Obama). Looking for the correct solutions regardless of dogma, is much different than the inclusion of all dogmatic solutions, right or wrong.

6. He is right taking the high road, while simultaneously making
it clear how some people in congress, and gee most of them are GOP, are obstructionist with no interest in finding common ground.
