History makes an excellent case for intervening in the economy
Edited on Sun Feb-15-09 09:03 AM by Onlooker
Prior to Roosevelt's policies, we were always in and out of recession. From 1902 to 1927 (25 years) there are about 10 years of recession interposed. Only after the New Deal, did the number and length of recessions start declining. In fact, since 1940, we still haven't had a combined 10 years of recession. Big government is not necessarily good for the economy, but it's good for the people.
