The latest gop email making the rounds.
They're certainly guilty of projection at the very least.

ONE OF THE BEST EXPLANATIONS

OF WHY OBAMA WON THE ELECTION

From a teacher in the Nashville area:

"We are worried about "the cow"

when it is all about the "Ice Cream"

The most eye-opening civics

lesson I ever had was while teaching
third grade this year. The presidential

election was heating up and
some of the children showed an interest.

I decided we would have an
election for a class president.

We would choose our nominees.

They would make a campaign speech
and the class would vote.

To simplify the process, candidates

were nominated by other class
members. We discussed what kinds

of characteristics these students
should have. We got many nominations

and from those, Jamie and Olivia
were picked to run for the top spot.

The class had done a great

job in their selections. Both
candidates were good kids. I thought

Jamie might have an advantage because

he got lots of parental support.

I had never seen Olivia's mother.

The day arrived when they

were to make their speeches.

Jamie went first.

He had specific ideas about

how to make our class a better
place. He ended by promising to

do his very best.

Everyone applauded and

he sat down.

Now is was Olivia's turn to speak.

Her speech was concise.

She said, "If you will vote for me, I will
give you ice cream." She sat down.

The class went wild. "Yes! Yes! We
want ice cream."

She surely would say more.

She did not have to. A discussion
followed. How did she plan to

pay for the ice cream? She wasn't sure.
Would her parents buy it or would

the class pay for it. She didn't
know. The class really didn't care.

All they were thinking about was
ice cream.

Jamie was forgotten.

Olivia won by a landslide.

Every time Barack Obama opened

his mouth he offered ice cream and
52 percent of the people reacted

like nine year olds. They want
ice cream.

The other 48 percent know

they're going to have to
feed the cow and clean

up the mess."

Remember, the government cannot give anything to anyone ---

that they have not first taken away from someone else.

1. You silly sheep! Debt only matters when A DEMOCRAT is in office!!
Never mind the fact that over 70% of the current national debt was rung up by three REPUBLICAN "presidents". But that's OK.

Never mind the fact that our current mountain-sized debt was used to . . . line the pockets of the wealthy and our ridiculously bloated military, created very few jobs as a result (both Bewshs had horrible job creation on their watches) and served as the rocket fuel for the current economic blow up. But that's OK.

Never mind the fact that current Republicans and Libertarians are jumping over themselves trying to attack our three-weeks-in-office President for trying to do something about this and already CALLING for its failure and his impeachment; all the while glossing over the massive fuck-ups wrought from their neo-fascist deities for the past 28 YEARS. But .. . again . . . that's OK.

Because IOKIYAR. It's OK if you're a Republican.

Being a Republican means NEVER having to explain how the brilliant strategery of "TAX CUTS FOR CORPORATIONS!" is going to help things when it's been a colossal failure every time it's been tried.

Being a Republican means NEVER having to answer for the amount of almost unrepairable damage their "leaders" caused this environment, the economy, our world standing and our morale.

And most importantly, being a Republican means that you believe in all your steadfast dumbshittedness that a governor who indebted a state less populated than Columbus, Ohio and wouldn't be qualified to manage a Burger King is a far better choice to run this country and get us through this crisis than Barack Obama.

For twenty eight years, presidents that ranged from moderate to lunatic fascist have taken from the people and given it to someone else; mostly their cronies. Only ONE had a successful economy on his watch.

Somehow, the word "hypocrisy" just doesn't quite cut it.

2. Yeah, these are the same folks that believe in "wealth creation" --
And wealth creation is the acquisition of money from the working class. I'd rather have represetatives chosen by the vote of the people take my money for the public good, than for the ruling class to take it for their own amusement.

3. Yes, that's exactly
the point. The richest one percent of the population has all the ice cream. I want the government to take it away from them and give to the people who actually earned it.

8. I find it amazing they talk about having to clean up messes
when in fact it was they who left the mess to clean up. And the part about taking money away from someone makes for a good soundbite until one steps back and realizes that the gop has taken and taken from the little guy for ages. Then again the people to whom this email is aimed do not stop to think about those things.

14. Seriously. If the "cow" has anything to do with our economy, Rs are the last
people I'd trust to feed and care for it - they've been minding the cow for the last 8 years, and it's starved, fleabitten, near death, and I'm pretty sure one of them gave it herpes...

4. Republicans won't offer ice cream
But, how would you like your war? Chocolate topping? Bananas?

:hi:

Wait ... wouldn't ice cream be cheaper than war?

5. how quickly we forget
the 2000 election where Al Gore wanted to shore up Social Security with the surplus and George W wanted to piss it down our collective leg with tax cuts for everybody (especially millionaires). What do you suppose the douche bag that wrote this e-mail said back then?

6. It is a well known and notorious fact that Barack Obama made us a promise he hasn't kept:
PONIES. I never got one, and I don't know anyone who has, either.

But now I learn Obama promised us all ponies AND ice cream?! IMPEACH!!1!!1! x(

7. Just like the rest of their ridiculous emails: crap
I can't believe my repuke relatives haven't sent me this one yet. Guess the last time I told them off stuck.

Jebus, it sounds like this one was written for 3rd graders, that's about the developmental level they all operate on anyway.

9. The problem with this story is that Obama is Jamie & the repubs are Olivia.
Obama didn't promise us ice cream. Instead, he told us the truth, that we have had ice cream for the past 8 years without paying for it & now it is time to feed the cow & clean up the mess.

As for that last comment about government not giving to someone without first taking from someone else, :eyes: Never has so much been taken from so many who are needy, to benefit so few, who need it so little.

11. She certainly taught those kids an important lesson.
Politicians can and will try to buy your vote.

Better to know who you are voting for than to be left out in the cold,

WITH YOUR FREAKIN ICE CREAM.

12. I'm taking a lesson on ice cream from the party that promises tax cuts will increase revenues?
Please. Obama promised "the road to recovery will be long and difficult". That's not ice cream. Ice cream is when you promise tax cuts will fix our roads, repair our schools, and pay for the zillion dollar defense costs incurred by Bush's vanity war in Iraq.
