2. One from column A, one from column B
Nationalize bad banks; increase regulatory control and oversight over ALL of them.

Where I live, there are banks on every corner--and a lot of them have quirky "no name" names. It's like, how can these assholes stay in business? I don't "get" the business model.

3. Nationalize them PERMANENTLY
Not just temporarily until they're 'healthy' enough to sell back to private investors.

4. I want 3 and 5
Nationalize the Big 6, and force them to spin off smaller companies so they can NEVER be able to say that they are too big to fail again.

6. A variety of things
Let the smaller good banks take over the smaller bad banks. I still think I'd buy the mortgages, regulate against this mortgage scam they did, and then get the banks functioning properly again. Then I'd start negotiating mortgages. I'd rather have the government own the property than owning the banks.

7. The big banks should be allowed to fail, and their good assets ...
... given to new banks, which banks should be run by local banks which are doing well in the immediate market of such failed banks.

The big banks are the ones that made the stupid bets, that deserve to go under. Their stockholders should be zeroed out, their directors and top officers let go, and their good assets divided up among local banks that have shown they know what they're doing.

There are over 8000 local banks in America, and most of them are sound. They could absorb the failed banks branches spread all over the country. The mistake is thinking a big bank can take over another big bank and make that work right now.

Do away with the above, get rid of the Fed,World Bank etc & get the control of money back where it belongs with Governments not private profit making organisations.

12. Government should be in control of monetary supply (without interest)
It's absurd to me to think that our own government doesn't have control of the monetary supply and gets charged interest. A sizable portion of the deficit could be wiped out with just eliminating interest they owe.

Klugman has brought up nationalizing banks. Other than him mentioning it, I didn't think that was an option on the table.
