A sad anniversary, GDer's.
Six years ago, a fire at The Station in West Warwick, RI killed 100 people. Just going to a show. Great White. No reason for it. None at all.

7. Ohhhh. I'd forgotten that it was this date.
I was with my son on a college visit, saw some news coverage on the evening news, when the first reports were of only a few deaths. Didn't learn the full horror until late the next day.

On a more cheerful note, this is also the date in 1962 that John Glenn became the first American to orbit the earth. I was in 8th grade, and the school I attended put the radio coverage of it on the school's PA system.
