Just my opinion, but I think the Republican Party is a sinking ship, and has been for a while.

1. Me too
The only former Democrats that I know are a dying number of very old, native born white Southerners who used to be "Dimmicrat" during the old days of Lester Maddox and George Wallace.

4. Who in their right mind would change to 'R' after the past 8 years,
and the smart, promising president we have now?

I don't know anyone either.

5. Over half the people I know don't vote
Many of them are former Republicans and former Democrats, some have never voted, and others stopped voting for Independents, etc.

7. I've heard some older folks say they used to vote Democratic but now prefer
Republican. In my opinion, they've been righties the whole time.

8. That was when there were a lot of conservative Democratic leaders
JFK was actually pretty conservative as far as Democrats go, especially compared to his two younger brothers.

LBJ was a pro-war Democrat, even though he was progressive in civil rights. And then there were the Dixiecrats and boll weevils of the South.

Your post makes no sense at all. You sound like a twittering talking point. Is a lot more than one or less than 10? Some republicans ran as a dem to get the vote and some turned independant and some dems ran as republicans to get the vote and in the end both parties sit together and wine and dine and laugh at the fools who believe one 10th of the shit that comes out of their mouths. And every four years they all line up for the next debate sponsered by clean coal or the energy companies and present their spin and the media brings it to a boil and your vote does'nt mean squat.

If this were not even partly true then in the 200 plus years we have been a nation we all would be much better off rather than worse off than ever before. The people were sold a load of complete crap and bought it so now we get the cheap and allowed all our jobs to be shipped away without even considering how everyone would be affected and it was both parties who did this for their own personal gain and interests.
