Why do progressives listen to Right wing radio and watch Fox News???

Honest to god I think the only viewers Fox news have is nursing home residents, people stuck at the tire store and progressives ...

I can't watch Glen Beck for more than a minute without wanting to hurl.... I don't know how or why you guys do this....

I would rather sit through a skinimax movie or Sci-fi channel film about digital snakes attacking.... Outside of Tyra Banks and those Housewives shows I can't think of anything worse to watch than Fox News....

I can't. Mostly because the right wing media has nothing to teach me. I am trying to increase my knowledge and that's why I don't listen to them.

It is interesting to listen to some right wing talking point on the radio and a week later hear your co-worker repeat it word for word. That tells you something about their ability to think for themselves.

10. I work with an older gentleman and I swear he listens to them just so he'll have something

to bitch about. I've tried telling him before that I don't listen to Rush and Hannity because I don't care what they have to say and don't really want to hear about what they are saying either. He doesn't take the hint, though, so nearly every day I get to hear about their moronic statements.

I think as individuals who actually care about the citizens of this country (not just the upper percentile) one is compelled to analyze and dissect the bullshit that is clogging the arteries of this country's progress. If conservatives always had their way and liberals were always apathetic; then our country would still have segregation, child labor, unsafe work environments, lower environmental standards, unclean food, unclean water, no social security, no GI bill, no 40 hour work week, no unions, no overtime pay- sadly, I can keep going and going...

To really get a grasp on the REAL "cool-aide" that's hindering any constructive force in this country, one has only look to one of Rupert Murdoch's (or any other conservative hack's) publications or televised media.

Good Lord, how can anyone listen to that stuff for more than ten minutes at a time?! OMG, it's appalling how bad it is.

I used to listen to a variety of rightwingers on radio - 5 minutes here or there - Limbaugh, Savage, Beck, others. I did so to familiarize myself with them, and to find out what they were telling the dullards on the right out there. I learned that they have a few talking points daily, and are hammering those points. They have personal themes they repeat. They're all clearly aimed at grumbling white men who feel they don't get a fair shake in life. They give homophobia, xenophobia, racism and sexism a place to be heard, every day.
