How big is Limbaugh's audience?

When reading this remember, Arbitron counts someone as a listener if they tune in for just 15 minutes. There are a lot of folks (some here) who might tune into Rusho for 15 minutes any given week, but I wouldn't consider them part of his Dittoheads. So how many people really follow Limpball? My guess is less than 5 million, that's sizable but nowhere near the 20 million he likes to site.

1. Arbitron couldn't care if you're a dittohead of not. If you listen, you count.

And there are plenty of DUers who are avid listeners of The Pig.

Rush was bragging about "14 million listeners" but as it turns out, it's a bit exaggerated.

KO mentioned the difference between TV Nielsen ratings and radio Arbitron ratings, and suggested to get a number comparable to Nielson ratings, you actually divide the Arbitron number by ten to get a rough order-of-magnitude approximation.

So if you go by the same standards as the Nielsen ratings, Rush's numbers are 1.4 million, roughly.

But Rush loves to pull all sorts of thing out of his ass. He certainly has pulled one over on the idiots who are paying him $400 million (which might also be a made up number).
