Rapper gives out posters with smoking/drinking/gun to middle schoolers
Edited on Sat Mar-07-09 09:44 PM by rainbow4321
right after giving them a "motivational speech". :wtf:

http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/wfaa/latestnews/stories/wfaa090307_lj_hipartist.10ee4e12.html

National hip hop artist Gorilla Zoe visited Pearl C. Anderson Junior High School on Friday.

He was there for a motivational speech but left students with a poster that has some questionable content and left parents wondering why the school allowed it.

This poster contained the cover shot for Gorilla Zoe's new album, showing the rapper smoking, drinking and packing a pistol in his pocket.

(snip)

The event's promoter tells News 8, the school's principal signed off on the visit but the principal had little to say about sanctioning the poster giveaway.

2. Not surprised. Celebrity motivation speech by a rapper?
What do they expect?

I wouldn't trust anyone from the world of professional sports, professional pop music, or the Christian Right to say anything in a motivational speech that they actually lived by.

Pure lies.

3. So if it was 1955 and John Wayne gave the speech
than handed out a movie poster, what the hell would be the difference....oh yeah he's white and he's killing Indians in the movie.

9. I won't try to defend what Gorilla Zoe did but this
guy didn't even go gold. More people will know who he is from this headline than his music. Stupider moves have been pulled by many people who can't be tied to the rap but their industries aren't mentioned about half a dozen times when their antics get any publicity.

10. I take it Michael Eric Dyson wasn't available?
I mean, damn, if you really wanted to bring a rapper into school, I'd hold out for Chuck D.
