5. Au contraire... "print" is not dead - it's just on the Internets, now.
Granted, newspapers can't pay large staffs with the cheaper cost of web advertising, but "print," as it pertains to the written word, is not dead.

:hi:

But, to round out your list:

Good service. American manufacturing. Non-political churches.

6. I was distinguishing between the tactile newspaper and the cyber editions
online.

No cyber-elves have been laid off for the online edition at the rate advertising revenues have diminished for the newsbox editions.

"Non-political churches" -- excellent.

7. OK... that's true.
And why I pointed out that online advertising isn't as expensive, which translates into newspaper bosses making the decision to cut staff because they can't afford to pay their current workforce.

8. I'm sad that cable news, such as it is, has replaced the daily reading
of the tactile newspaper.

It is not altogether ended, but it is diminished and cut-into.

I miss my days living in New York City and Washington when people read anythng they could get their hands on in a coffee shop or restaurant. I loved seeing people paper-fold the New York TIMES on the subway.
