So my cat Sophie doesn't generally watch TV. This is still the only time I have seen her do it. She batted at the Daily Show graphics too. This is too cute for just the pet forum!

9. Cats are indepenent. Dogs just do what they're told.
But I'm not trying to start a cat fight. Just sayin.

17. My Cats are more like Dogs. They greet me at the door when I come home,
they love to lay down beside me, or on my lap, and one of them sleeps in bed with me all night. And, they understand what "NO" means, and usually (usually is the key word here!) do what they're told.

I have friends with Cats that never want to be touched, so I guess it depends a lot on how they've been treated and raised.

20. Two of mine act like dogs, come when they're called, follow me around, etc
The other is completely independent. Doesn't need anyone for anything!! Fiesty li'l gal. Until recently (maybe due to tainted food) she had never been ill. I always said no germ would dare!!

41. I had a cat who loved to play fetch
But only with crumpled paper balls. Crumple any paper, and she'd come running from wherever and would fetch the paper ball and bring it back. Loved that cat.

I knew I'd stir up a hornet's nest with that post, but really -- sounds like some of you have CINO's (cats in name only).

43. My male Cat, Tyler, plays fetch!
He also plays Red Light, Green Light when you peek around the corner at him. He thinks he's quite the stalker. He also knows how to jump up on the wall and turn the lights on and off. It was a bit startling the first few times he did it!

44. Tyler like Sophie is in the category of being
waay to clever for their their/our own good! Sophie and her sister Smokie get canned food when my radio turns on at 6am, generally. They now know that by sitting on my alarm clock the radio will turn on and thus I will feed them. I don't really need to set my alarm anymore, usually now it is started waaay before 6.:eyes:

45. How funny! I had a Cat named Max for 16 years, and he knew he would be fed
first thing when I got up as well. So, he started doing it earlier and earlier...weekends, holidays, didn't matter.

Both of my Cats now get fed when I come home from work. They are ALWAYS happy to see me. I keep 4-5 different kinds of kibble out for them all the time, so they are never really hungry. The time change was made to prevent a repeat of Max, and I'm pretty sure Tyler would have it figured out by now.

Sophie and Smokie are hoping you don't notice that the time is getting earlier and earlier...heaven help us if they ever learn to use the phone, and can pass "tips" back and forth to each other!

My dogs are decidedly independent--they listen to me when they feel like it, or when there's something in it for them. Gotta love 'em!

My cats will sometimes watch TV from across the room.
You can see their eyes moving, following movement on the screen. Very cute. If I leave the TV on in the bedroom, both of them will be back there sleeping, I think they like hearing the TV even if they aren't watching it.

5. Are you sure?
When my cat does something like that, he pukes up. Perhaps your cat is a Rove plant and is practicing so it can hurl on him when a perceived mean-spirited anti-Bush joke is said.

14. I think cats are big here because....
Edited on Wed Mar-28-07 11:32 AM by AnneD
1) cats are neither leaders or followers-they dance to their own music...much like true Democrats.
2) it takes patience to care for something that may or may not like you.

Most GOP I know prefer dogs...
1) dogs can be trained to obey
2) dogs are always greatful for what ever scapes you give them.

Now that being said...I have both in my household...but the cat is the only one allowed on the bed with me.;)

Edited to add that the cartoon wasn't posted before I started typing....It sums it up all very nicely. Yes...cats are democrats. I might add

Male cats will fight for pussy but a dog will hump anything.

35. My dog is a Democrat; may cat is apolitical (kind of fluffhead); my horse is an anarchist
Actually when my anarchist horse--who is always plotting against the dominant horse in his paddock--gets in charge himself he quickly becomes a dictator.

Like the song says:

Come meet the new boss
Same as the old boss...

We won't get fooled again
