Bizarre, Unusual Question to Business-Minded People
I don't even know quite how to phrase this question, but here goes:

There is a company I believe in more than they seem to believe in themselves.

I want to invest in them.

They don't seem to care one way or the other.

I SO believe in this company that I wish I could buy the damned thing myself and reshape it slightly. it is perfect, but I feel like the owners don't appreciate the power and force of what they have.

It's so frustrating.

Has anyone been in a situation like this, where they cared passionately about a small, humble company and just wanted to help or shape it in some way?

I almost never get excited about anything anymore, but I LOVE this company and I don't want to see it perish. I can't tell if my assistance is welcome or not--it doesn't seem to be. But I think they are not in the best predicament financially.

I just wish I knew if I could help or not. There is such amazing potential here. They are marketing themselves to a very tiny market, but I think their market is much, much bigger than they think. And if Sirius/XM fails, I don't know what their future will be.

1. as an active investor/trader
i know to NEVER fall in love with a company, nor a stock.

fwiw, a GREAT company can be a terrible stock purchase, and a great stock purchase can even exist with a company that has serious issues.

it comes down to valuation, profit margins, management, etc.

and unless you have metric assloads of money to lose, i would NOT invest in a company because you want to help them or keep them from perishing.

somebody like buffett can, to some extent , do that.

but most of us can;'t.

3. There are one of two things that will happen
Sirius/XM will get it's head out of it's ass, and will prosper. They no longer have each other as competition.

Or, they will continue to circle the drain, and go bankrupt. The satellites and radio infrastructure will all still be in place, and somebody will buy them from the bankruptcy trustee or whomever, and will start with a clean slate with assets acquired at bargain basement prices.

If that happens, invest in that company. They'll have a wealth of information about what NOT to do.
