Opposition to HR 875 being astroturfed by Ron Paul's Campaign for Liberty
House Resolution 875 is the food safety bill entering Congress now. I like the bill, but can see who WON'T like it most: big agribusiness, because the bill's tracking requirements are going to cost serious money.

The bill has a lot of opposition online. If you read the text of the opposition you can tell it's astroturf--they mention the Big, Bad, Evil Monsanto even though Monsanto won't actually be effected by this bill because, apparently unbeknownst to anyone, MONSANTO DOESN'T MAKE FOOD! Oh yeah...you know the evil Sodexo they say is going to be such a beneficiary of the bill? Know what they do? They run institutional food service operations. Sodexo, which was spun off from Marriott many years ago, is the biggest contractor of college and university cafeteria operations in the United States. If you went to college, you probably dined with Sodexo.

I used this sentence to search the internet...please pay particular attention to the spelling of the word "seized."

This legislation is so broad based that technically someone with a little backyard garden could get fined and have their property siezed.

It comes from http://www.campaignforliberty.com/blog.php?view=12671

Here's what I found:

This legislation, now before congress, heavily influenced by lobbyists from huge food producers is so broad based that technically someone with a little backyard garden could get fined and have their property siezed.

I know, I know, Big Business--the ONLY ones who will benefit from the absence of regulation the Libertarians seek--knows what's best for us. Google "Peanut Corporation of America" and tell me that's still true.
