Someone famous died.
And he or she disagreed with your, my or their political beliefs.

They died.

Their family is grieving.

If you disagreed with them, your disagreement is over. They're gone and it doesn't matter any more.

I won't bash the dead for reasons personal unless they continue to piss me off after they're dead. That happens very rarely.

I'll still take RR's policies to task but I won't diss him personally. It wouldn't do any good a I doubt seriously that he could hear what I said.

Let the dead rest and let their policies serve as fodder as long as those policies are in effect.

4. I haven't read any of the Ron Silver threads
but if people are calling him out the OP has a point.

5. Is he (or rather *was* he) a DUer?
Edited on Mon Mar-16-09 02:15 AM by Vickers

Then you can scarcely say that anyone is "calling him out."

Folks are calling him what he is: a fucked-up Repuke, something his accolades and/or status (professional and biological) do not mitigate.

Peace.

Rest in peace and all that shit, but his attitude, shared by many, is what is fucking things up.

Again: peace.

6. It's a high horse I'll gladly ride.
Way too much grave-pissing goes on here.

3. I get what you're saying
I haven't commented on it much. I'm a little conflicted on the guy myself.

My problem with him didn't stem for his support for a person but more about the war itself. I felt to support this war you support the sensless slaughter of innocent people. Many of them young kids.

Death and dying is not something I take lightly.

For the most part he's fortunate to have lived to 62. Can't say as much about the many victims of the war he supported.

7. Let me make this perfectly clear
There are more than a few deaths I will be celebrating here on DU starting with Dick Cheneys. I won't give a flying fugg about his or their grieving families because everything they did damaged the families of thousands of people across this planet.

Spare me the beatitudes. We're way past being politically correct when evil men die.
