Why didn't Katie do the 60 minutes interview?
Anyone else surprised that 60 minutes didn't get their #1 girl on the plane for this one? It was The President of the United States! What gives?

3. So, you're saying Obama made the pick?
Kroft did fine, as far as I was concerned, but it just seems strange to me that CBS' high-profile anchor wasn't the one doing the face to face. It struck me when they didn't have her doing the "this and Andy Rooney" for the intro.

Is it possible there's a shakeup coming at CBS? They're not putting her out as the face of CBS for their news for some reason. Again...this was POTUS!

4. Different Divisions...
Kroft has replaced Mike Wallace as the lead interviewer/personality on the show. While it's part of CBS News, it's operated independently. For years Wallace conducted the "carrot" interviews. Walter Cronkite never appeared on the show (IRC) and Rather didn't become involved with the show until the 90's (remember 60 Minutes II???).

Kouric will get her chance. She's been at several White House meetings with leading anchors already. While she's included on the show, this really isn't her turf.`
