American jobs

Gotta have a variety of sizes!

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2009/mar/23/us-china-economy-condoms

Call it a condom conundrum.

At a time when the federal government is spending billions of stimulus dollars to stem the tide of US layoffs, should that same government put even more Americans out of work by buying cheaper foreign products?

In this case, Chinese condoms.

That's the dilemma for the folks at the US Agency for International Development (USAID), which has distributed an estimated 10bn US-made AIDS-preventing condoms in poor countries around the world.

But not anymore.

3. Talk about putting lead in your pencil!
I'm much more worried about failure. What's the point in distributing condoms if they break? We're doing nothing to stem AIDS or the birthrate.

4. They changed from the Alabama-made ones in part because they were so awful nobody used them.

Why pay over twice as much for a condom that's so thick nobody wants to wear it, for complaint that they can't feel anything?

5. Pretty good thanks to the one child policy.
The Chinese have been one of the world's largest consumers of condoms for almost thirty years. You can buy them in racks next to the cash register in almost every convenience store in the country.

8. Look on the bright side, fellas.
With a Chinese condom, you'll not only be protected against unwanted pregnancy and STDs, but if the woman happens to be dangerously radioactive, you're still good.
