14. Good job with the logic jody. You got all the possibilities.
Edited on Mon Mar-30-09 05:12 PM by TWiley
All the possibilities for two variables that is. It is pretty rare to see a poll where all of them are listed.

I would like to see Mr. Obama fire betrayus, and hire Powell. Colin Powell is an Obama believer, and knows the territory over there. I do believe he would find the best, and fastest exit to those nasty bush family wars.

3. We can't win. Focus should be on Al-qaeda.
Turning Afghanistan into a modern democracy would be a fool's errand. We should let them set up whatever government they want to and focus on finding and killing Al-Qaeda.

4. First, Bush took the focu out of Afghanistan and started a useless war in Iraq which had nothing to
Edited on Mon Mar-30-09 04:25 PM by WI_DEM
do with 9/11. Obama is shifting the emphasize away from Iraq and into Afghanistan where it should have been 8-years ago. The ? is does it make any sense after all this time and with Bin-Laden having escaped due to Bush's incompetence to continue in Afghanistan. I haven't made up my mind on that as yet.

19. You are on target but I think it makes plenty of sense to pursue
Bin-Laden in view of the fact that Al Quada is totally unpredictable.

But, Al was smart enough to get the hell out when beaten. Unlike, the more modern set of idiots.

I never wanted him to fail in Afghanistan. I want it to be a successful intervention resulting in independence and political stability.

11. The art of talking first and shooting later.....
has disappeared. No money made in talking. * started the *amn thing and Obama campaigned that he would continue and escalate it. Obama is holding true to his word to continue the killing. I have heard that he is trying to talk while simultaneously killing which is better than nothing.

12. In 2001, I said an invasion of Afghanistan was justified, but ...
I didn't support it with Dubya in control. I think that position is rather-well vindicated -- at least the Dubya-in-control part.

20. I supported the decision to go into Afghanistan, and continue
to support Obama's efforts.

What's sad is who knows where we might be right now if the troops send to the needless war in Iraq, had been send to Afghanistan.

I will continue to protest against the war now that Obama is in charge because it is still just as wrong now as it was then.

22. the implication seems to be we should be grateful Obama is better and shut up
about the details.

No, I won't.

We should not blindly trust anyone, and Obama's cozying up with the bankers over the Wall St. bailouts means we should keep an even closer eye on him.

He had the best chance of modernizing and taming Afghanistan.

But ultimately, he had "other priorities"
