http://www.editorandpublisher.com/eandp/news/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1003961486Two weeks ago, I wrote a column here about my first few days on Twitter (a service which actually was deemed "over" about two years ago, believe it or not).
My message essentially was: I was surprised to find it so useful as a source for scoops and links for the E&P site and at our blogs. Yes, there's plenty of silliness, but if used properly -- you need to "follow" the right people and stay away from most others -- it can be extremely valuable for news people.
If you haven't checked it out yet (there's been a boom just in the three weeks since I signed on), here's a brief sampling of some of the comments that I have offered to my "followers" just in the past day, and those provided by just a few of those I am following. See if you find more of this worth pursuing, at 140 characters a pop. And remember, you can "follow" who you want, so if, say, Karl Rove at Fox is your cup of tea, go wild.
BTW, I am at:
