Representative Steve King, who lives nowhere me, even though we are both Iowans, is apparently a spokesman for the "defense of marriage" people out there because I just heard his slimy voice on my land line phone. I nearly hung up when the intro said, "Hello, I Representative Steve King", but morbid curiousity and a desire to tell him off kept me hanging on. I was asked if I'm a registered voter and of course I said, "yes." Then the voice asked me if I thought marriage should be exclusively between a man and a woman, although not exactly in those words. I replied '"no". And that ended the call, after he identified the organization. I am thinking about contacting his office and telling him to leave me alone and that I don't like him, especially since he is not my rep and never will be. The phone no. off my caller id is 202-461-3452 and the organization is frnkcmpn. A public service in case they call anyone out there. Don't answer if that comes up on your caller id. On edit- The people are called National Organization for Marriage. Apparently, the phone number is from McClean VA and is a hate organization. While searching, it came up as "hate Obama".
