Arguments against Commissions?
I plan on writing some stuff, and I'm wondering if anyone can give me some pointers in advocating prosecution in both a legal sense, and a political one. Not like 'they are just cover-ups' but something more ...persuasive without being.. condescending, or accusatory.

8. Thomas Keane, head of the 9/11 Commission -
Edited on Thu Apr-23-09 08:29 PM by Avalux
interviewed on MSNBC today expressed interest in heading a torture 'truth' commission to find out who knew what. He made it clear he would not recommend prosecution of any of the perpetrators. In other words, we'd get another 9/11-type, feel-good report and that would be the end of it.

Commissions are designed to quiet public outcry. They are not designed to hold government official accountable for wrongdoing.

9. Every federal Commission in modern times has had CYA for the status quo
as it's overarching responsibility. If a little truth leaks out along the path toward exonerating the elite, it is purely by accident.
