Today's RW Spaghetti (as flung at the wall in Joey the Scar's hot air emporium):
We don't want overreach with this torture thing because it's dangerous for the Dems to set up McCarthylike hearings.

Children, what is the difference between Torturegate and McCarthy hearings? Repeat after me, Torturegate has real crimes planned and carried out by real people. McCarthyism tried people for what they thought they were thinking or believing.

5. Yes they are because they know that a constant litany of the war crimes committed by
* and Cheney will put the Rs out of business permanently. Furthermore, they are carrying on about how such trials could "inflame" the Muslim world. I think that is not the case. I really believe that the world seeing us clean our own home will open doors for cooperation.

7. Did you notice earlier how Scar was saying Boner
Edited on Fri Apr-24-09 06:07 AM by Subdivisions
was confident yesterday in his response to Nancy Pelosi's statement on Congress' role in knowledge of torture but that Nancy was just "Nancy"?

"Boner displayed all the confidence in the world. Nancy was just....well..."Nancy".

Sounds to me like he's trying to lay all the blame for torture at Nancy's feet. Nevermind it being bushco's program.

My head almost exploded.

9. Boehner was freaking whistling past the graveyard, the same thing
he has been doing since January. Scarborough is the Rs first place of the day to catapault the propaganda to those who are not Faux viewers or Limbaugh zombies. He lobs it out there with a giggle and slathered with a little sugar to make it palatable, trying to disguise crap as your morning pastry.

11. Also, in the clip they showed of Boner, they conveniently left out the
part where Boner actually says "torture techniques".

Funny how that works.

16. Horse pucks, Hoesktra on now catapaulting fears of not being able to get their
hands on documents to prove Dem culpability. Joey and Buchanan whipping up fears of coverups and destruction of documents. Rs "need to protect the members of the intelligence community" since "the president has thrown under the bus." How stupid do they think we are? Who has the most to lose by this? I'd love to see the bills of the last adminsitration for paper shredders before they left office. Since when have the Rs been concerned about accountability in the past 8 years?

27. There is a not so subtle threat being framed in this mornings propaganda and I wonder
if we have enough in our camp to stand up to it. Clinton authorized rendition. Period. The documents that Bond wants to get his hands on really does not have anything to do with *. Documents of the * administration will come out. What they want is documentation of rendition by the Clinton administration and then push to have Clinton indicted for war crimes too if the * administration is taken down.

Now, let's hash this one out. I want torture to end. Period. NO administration should be allowed to skate on this one. We should not just be having a "national discussion" (I hate that euphenism) about this issue; we should be ending its practice and upholding the law.

30. Exactly. They are hoping that by making it complicated
we will back down. That people will be so sickened and daunted by the complexity of the whole history of things done in our name, we will back down. Really, it is very simple. The law was broken--federal and international. The law of the land was flagrantly disobeyed by the erstwhile "leader" of our nation and to the detriment of our nation and the world. We are either a nation of laws or no better than the most corrupt and abusive goverment in any quarter of the Third World. Either no man is above the law or it has no meaning.

31. Can you imagine the Republican response if this had happened
during a Democratic administration? There would be war crimes trials at Madison Square Garden, televised on HBO. The Dems in Congress need to grow their backbones real fast and do what's right. You can't make nice with people who won't acknowledge torture for what it is.
