8. That thread .........
I cannot believe the animus against Jonathan Turley because he interpreted the law during the Clinton impeachment.

Someone in that thread actually compared Turley to Bill O'Reilly?

Wow.

Welcome to freerepublic.com........

12. Yes I even tried to point out the absurdity of the comparison.
Fell on deaf ears.

That's - I'm series!!1111!!! - about the most shocking thing I've seen here at DU.

I'm shaking my head at the absurdity and blindness of it.

You did good.

20. Yup
I'm just not a "My Party right or wrong" kind of person. Reminds me too much of the Vietnam War days when it was "My country right or wrong". Nuts to both.

Btw, Clinton was an idiot for lying. He should have just told the truth and then told them to get their noses out of his pants.

28. My favorite:
"America - love it or leave it." And I see it cropping up again today.

I am always confounded by the profound misunderstanding of what democracy means. Or our Constitution.

Like Watergate, the lies got Clinton into trouble, not the original offense. It was an outrage, though, that that fucking suit was permitted to go forward while he was in office. Absolutely wrong, wrong, wrong. But, then I remember how the GOPigs hounded the Clintons for eight damn years.

Remember "Whitewater"? And what came of it?

These same fuckers now want us to lay off on the matter of torture. Incredible. . . . .

I never watch the 5 pm show, but, for some reason, I did today, and it's so cool watching Turley say, "For the love of God, Pat" to Buchanan when he gets particularly rabid.................

No matter the party.
He has criticized Democrats so he has been thoroughly demonized by many here.

11. I've seen that in another thread,
which absolutely shocked me.

There's no one better than Turley. I'd love to see him on the Supreme Court. He's a brilliant teacher, though, and I'd hate for him to have to give that up.

But, the attacks on him here at DU just floored me.............................

22. I'm still shaking my head over that
Frankly, I'd like to hear him develop the thought so he could be laughed off the set. There has to be some convoluted logic rolling around in his head like a hot marble.

30. What else is there?
That's why I became a lawyer - that's why lots of us went to law school.

The law demands respect, and those who will not respect the law must be educated and prevented from doing harm to the others.

27. well, if you think about it - he gives the balance for the right
so that it isn't "lefties" all the time (though tweety is a moderate that loved bush until it wasn't cool to love bush). I have no qualms with the nutcase, Buchanan, being the face of the right. Let the average folks see what they are really like.

25. Did you see where Pat said people in the US still support these interrogation
techniques.. and I'm thinking, then they are sadistic pigs and they have no business living the United States and calling themselves citizens. America does NOT torture. Its the law, and we live by the law. If you support, then you are a torturer yourself.

And that screeching high voice and tired old arguments?

Didn't he ever hear the old bromide that the first person who raises their voice in an argument is the automatic loser??
