I say let them run as many of the conservative "purists" as they can. This way we'll get more and more of the seats previously held by Republicans.

As Americans move more to the center and to the left, the chance that some fundie extremist gets elected decreases. They might win in Republican primaries, but have little chance in the general election against Democrats. Most Americans are getting tired of those whackos :)
