Calling in sick to a stimulus supported job to attend a tea party.
Edited on Sun May-03-09 12:23 PM by kid a
Three state road and bike trail projects kicked in last month, aided by the stimulus package, and my buddy next door went back to work.
He was employed by a paving company that had laid off over 100 people last year.

I asked about his "tea party / tax" bumper sticker yesterday while we were both doing yard work.
He got it at the April rally - after calling in sick to attend.

Oh, the irony.

13. The republican neighbor committed fraud by lying and using a sick day
To go to a political rally. Reporting a crime is not offensive, IMO.

When I worked for the State of Florida, I complained when my supervisor allowed political candidates to come into our office and campaign on my work time. I was being paid to work, not listen to political messages. I consider this to be the equivalent. Using tax payer paid time (sick time) for political purposes. No matter which party it is, it is wrong.

When I was still employing people in my private business and found out that an employee lied about why they took sick time off, I fired them - as much for lying to me as for using their sick time for something other than an illness.

8. I figure some TBers probably used their tax cut money to travel to the event.
So they could protest Obama's tax increases.

9. Ask him what it is about getting his job that he disagrees with
And act as if you're sincere. Then when you get the puzzled look keep asking him questions about it. Why are you going to rallies that object to his job?

Nothing skewers people better than asking them questions that make them have to think. If he says the government shouldn't be making hand outs remind him his job is one. If he says he doesn't want to work to pay for welfare for deadbeats tell him he's being paid with other people's tax dollars. He'll soon run out of cliches.

Maybe you can get a few well directed hammer meets nail observations in without him knowing it.
