Get Rachel Maddow on your iPhone!
Nice! A brand new Rachel app.

Cable news channel, MSNBC, has launched a free iPhone and iPod touch application for its daily news magazine show, "The Rachel Maddow Show." The app, which was developed by mobile media company, Zumobi, provides viewers with video (powered by Transpera) and photos, and allows them to easily access and respond to Maddow's Twitter updates. "Rachel Maddow's audience is young, sophisticated and connected," Randy Stearns, deputy editor of msnbc.com, said in a prepared statement. "The new iPhone application is designed to give them an engaging mobile experience with Rachel and her guests, ensuring they know what's happening any time, any place."

The application's video offerings include popular segments from Maddow's show, such as "Rachel Re:" and "Ms. Information." The app also allows viewers to "find out what's on Rachel's radar," MSNBC says, download full show podcasts, and preview the show's guest list. It is billed as offering "an innovative zooming user interface that is engaging and simple to navigate." Zumobi has also recently developed iPhone apps for "Today" and "American Idol."

1. Nice content, but terrible and complex user interface...
... The NBC Today show app shares the same UI, and it's doesn't follow any iPhone conventions at all.

If you want Rachel on your iPhone, you can subscribe to her audio or video podcasts.

I love it. I really like the interface. I design iPhn apps myself and am always glad when somebody does something a little different from the typical app.

on edit... althought I have to say, that I do not like the ads. I'd pay 99 cents for this app, why make it free with ads? I'll gladly pay a buck or two for this app.
