2. So, Republicans are something like 10 times more likely to be corrupt than Democrats.
Sounds right.

24. He's making a good point, historically.
Calling him a troll might make you feel good, but it just shows that you think our party can't be corrupted, but don't know history.

The reason the republicans were able to take over DC from Democrats in the past is because Democrats got used to being in charge and became corrupt. The corruption was so obvious that it was almost cliche to refer to Democrats as corrupt. Voters turned to Republicans in droves and voted us out of office.

If our party gets too comfortable in office now it is likely to happen again, especially with our party already favoring wall street over everyone else. They are already showing all the signs of being willing to bend all the rules or write new ones to benefit their wealthy friends, and fuck all the rest of us.

22. actually, it took well over 40 years
and then they did piddly stuff like use postage and let the house bank hold their hot checks for awhile. Nothing like the publican behavior over the past 16 years.

with too much power for too long and I'll leave it at that. You go on believing whatever you want to believe.

29. all politicians are just that
politicians. Some are worse than others. Some are incredibly worse than others. From time to time there have been statesmen; but most of those were murdered.

5. Why not the 22 Most Honest and Ethical?
Maybe because there aren't 22? I think Melanie overlooked about 200 others. Or should that be at least?

She definitely missed the two Bush lapdogs from Texas and just because no one has the goods on them doesn't mean they don't belong on the list. They probably belong at the top of the list.

Kay Bailey Hutchison in particular who was and still is the cheerleader for Republican corruption - Democrats commit crimes, Republicans commit technicalities. "Give me a T, give me an E, give me a C..."

19. Sadly, could you even come up with a list of 22... in either branch of Congress?
I hate to say it, but if I had to name trustworthy people in either branch of Congress right now, it would be a short list.

tells what these Hall of Shame members have done to earn their spot on this list?

7. Here's the link again . . .
http://www.citizensforethics.org/node/30138

However, if it doesn't work, just put Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington

into you search box . . .

It's the Beyond Delay Report in 2008 . . .

They referred to it as the 2008 report --

presumably meaning based on '07 info?

And also presume new corrupt list will be out shortly?

Again, you can see this on C-span -- or go to the website and pick up the interview.

8. Regarding the NM corrupt critters
Edited on Tue May-19-09 10:09 PM by rabs

Domenici resigned last year, allegedly for health reasons. He made the list for his role in the Attorney Generals firing scandal. (Enrique Iglesias)

Wilson also made the honor role of most corrupt for her part in the Iglesias firing.

Pearce was honored for corruption concerning minerals concessions in southern NM.

Pearce and Wilson ran in the Repub primary to replace Domenici. Pearce kicked Wilson's butt.

Then along came NM's Udall and kicked Pearce's behind in the general election.

So us NM Dems sent three Repubs packing.

(btw, this list is about two years old.)

9. Ken Calvert is a fat little ball of shit.
He was arrested in a parked car getting head from a hooker ~~ happened on a street in his home town of Corona, CA. The cop who arrested him was a rookie.

The bastard Calvert saw to it that the rookie got fired.

He didn't ask ONE question about the republicon corruption. NOT ONE. Very telling wouldn't you say.

28. Well . . . funny you should mention that . . .
I used to watch tons of C-span, but about two years ago Comcast took the Senate
out of the basic line up and they were always limiting the time, anyway --
and running sports, etc. in place of C-span.

At any rate, I finally changed to Verizon -- the wiretapping abettors! -- and now
I have my 3 C-span stations!! Just getting refamiliar with everyone again.

BUT ... addressing your point . . .

There were early days when I thought that Lamb was very liberal in what he was
choosing to show. Wow -- back when they first started C-span2, it was great!
Really about the only place you could see women and minorities on TV.

THEN . . . as the right-wing began to take over -- and especially the Gingrich
takeover in '94, C-span was just collapsing from the weight of it.
And, the Gulf War brought the Pentagon in --
And, instead of covering Business Round Table which is 250 or more corporations
which work against the interests of the worker, women, minorities ...
C-span is showing corporate CEO's . . .!!!

So, really not as good as it once was . . . but the live stuff is good to see again . . .
though Repugs were moving a lot of stuff into back rooms, I think???
And, really harming machinery of government.

Anyway, sadly, C-span is a creature of corporations and Lamb is certainly influenced
by that reality --

And, I was rather shocked at seeing more of him lately -- don't like this Brian Lamb
I'm seeing.

Where's Susan Swain?
