1. Damn- I was hoping he'd go after him
I hate Newt. What is Jon's problem? He has gone after some guests lately.

3. Yes......
He did a nice, minor, vague slap-down when Newt lied in his very last comment and said "listening" was in his book.

It always disturbs me when he has someone like Gingrich on, but I can understand it. I don't have to watch - but I do.

When he kisses their asses, that drives me insane. Some people just do not deserve that kind of fucking show of respect.

I'm losing heart. Today it just seems like everyone's sucking ass and compromising and staying silent. It just feels hopeless.........

5. I hope the scenario is something to the effect that we are luring
our enemies into complacency and into the open so we can get a better shot at them.

7. I'd like to think that,
but we don't need to do that - they're doing a perfectly fine job of shooting themselves in their collective foots while they're jumping up and down on their own dicks.

I watched that Air Force officer on Rachel's show tonight. He was fantastic, his record is amazing, the government's spent about $25,000,000 to train and educate him, and they're forcing him out - two years before his retirement, his pension - because he's gay.

Well, you know, fuck that. Obama promised to end DADT, and I'm not quite old enough to remember how Harry Truman ended segregation in the military, but my recollection is that he did it with an Executive Order.

Chimpy Fucknuts did EVERYTHING with Executive Orders. Obama's made some considerable use of them already.

Hell, I'm straight, but my heart is breaking about this backdown on a campaign promise. And that pilot with Rachel tonight was so stunning, so absolutely everything you want in a military man - he's been one for eighteen years - it's just horrid to contemplate how the idiots in charge are perfectly willing to ruin his life and cost our country because he's gay.

I'm this close to giving the hell up ........................

10. I give up every so often but then I come back to see if people
are still stupid and, of course, they still are. Once in a very great while I am surprised by something good happening but it is nearly always by accident.

had our motto printed on them:

"Stupidity's been very, very good to us."

It's not getting better....................

12. is his life really ruined?
He's still got the $25,000,000 worth of training. He's a pilot and that has some value in the open market, I think. Does he have a dishonorable discharge on his record? Probably there are some employers willing to overlook that, especially considering the reason for it, in order to get a qualified pilot.

14. Are you serious?
You don't understand that this sort of shaming, this ignominious and irrational end to a brilliant military career - one that he worked at so hard and for so long, and really loves - is not something that can just be shrugged off?

It's not about his finding another job. It's about his being forced out of his current job because of his sexual orientation.

How'd you like to be fired because of your sexual orientation, especially if you were a decorated hero at your job and were really, really good at it?

Do you honestly believe having "... some value in the open market..." would be any kind of consolation?

I'm hoping your post was a joke ......................

23. are you serious?
There is nothing I would love better than to be fired from a job and then land a better paying job (say as a commerical pilot for a major airline). I would be laughing all the way to the bank. Living well is pretty good revenge.

I didn't like getting fired for sucking at my job, but it didn't ruin my life even though I had pulled up stakes, taken a $20,000 real estate loss and bought a house in getting the job. In fact, I enjoyed the five months of unemployment checks and landed a half-way decent job without the huge commute.

I am just a hyperbole hater. He had some major bullsh*t dumped on him, but it doesn't have to ruin his life.

24. You got fired for sucking at your job ......
That's a legitimate reason for getting fired.

This man is brilliant at his job, but he's being ditched because of his sexual orientation.

You enjoyed being on unemployment? Well, that is probably another huge difference between you and this officer. See, he loves his job.

So you were lousy at your job and you got fired.

You enjoyed being unemployed and collecting.

Now, you have "a half-decent job."

I think maybe you can't identify with the problems this Air Force officer is having because he loves his job, is being pushed out because of what he is, and he wants to contribute and do good work.

You two inhabit very different worlds, so I can understand why you can't relate to this injustice.

As for "hyperbole," well, I guess that's a perfectly subjective matter. But, I do hope you enjoy your half-decent job. At least you've got a job.......................

25. depends on how you look at it
I was a phone customer service rep, and I think I was good at that. What I sucked at was selling the crap that they tell you to try to sell to somebody who calls asking for help with a problem.

If he got to work at a job he loved for 18 years (and getting a fair amount of pay as an AF major I would guess) then he has already had a much better life than me. Now he gets to learn how the other half lives. It's not a fate worse than death though to have to live as I do. My guess, though, is that he quickly lands another job that he loves (if he loves flying) and probably makes more money in a month than I do in a year.

I have applied for jobs that I thought I would like, like finance director and assistant librarian. In the latter case, I did not even get an interview in spite of my 8 years of college and seven years of owning a bookstore, and I did not get the finance job either.

We do occupy different worlds. That's for sure. He was up there where he could collect a $40,000 pension at age 42 and lifetime medical benefits. And I can see that it would suck bad to lose that for spurious reasons, or for any reason, but especially for spurious ones. But if he gets a $60,000 a year job as a pilot, as I am sanguine about, then it looks to me like "he will live" and probably live much better than your average part-time janitor.

Chimpy Fucknuts made an art out of the Executive Order.

Obama has just let it go, it would appear.

This guy's case is so egregious. I'm so glad Rachel is making these things public. You - and I - sure as hell having heard about him anywhere else, have we?

21. Thanks, but there's too much bad stuff going on -
I listened to Harry Reid today, and he's a worthless weasel.

I see the Air Force guy being forced out.

I see that the funding for closing Gitmo was denied.

I see the pharmaceutical people helping shape the decisions about National Health Care.

I know some good things have happened even since January 20, but, mostly, on a daily basis, I get sadder and sadder..........

8. So, lemme get this straight....
Jon Stewart can go after asshole guests face to face like Jim Cramer, and rip them to shreds, he can call bullshit on a nightly basis on a whole host of political and media hypocrisies, and do this kind of stuff for TEN YEARS...and then, because every now and again he doesn't go for the jugular...he's a 'total disappointment'. :wtf:
