U.S. could strike Iran but not win-Russian general
http://www.iranfocus.com/modules/news/article.php?storyid=10709

MOSCOW, April 3 (Reuters) - The United States cannot inflict a military defeat on Iran and any attack would be a huge political mistake, Russia's top general said on Tuesday.

"It is possible to damage Iran's military and industrial potential, but it is impossible to win," Russian news agencies quoted General Yuri Baluyevsky, head of the Russian general staff, as saying.

Russian media late last month quoted unnamed sources in Russian military intelligence as saying the United States could launch a strike on Iran as early as April 6.

RIA news agency quoted a Russian security source as saying Moscow has military intelligence reports that the U.S. has already approved a list of Iranian targets for bomb and missile strikes. The source said a land operation could follow.

1. I find it impossible to believe the US will start bombing Iran on April 6th.

No one announces those kinda things, yet this is the BFEE we are talking about. When they say nothing is off the table, they mean nothing is off the table. Saner people keep their shit in order on the table.

We are talking about the Three Stooges running the biggest military on the planet, ever.

WWIII is coming, just not on April 6th.

2. Your right probably the date is BS but war is coming
I saw some of the strategy Bush is going to use
American air and missile strikes would bombard Iran’s oil fields, pipelines and refineries. Because Tehran imports 60 percent of its refined fuel, including petrol, an attack which put the Abadan refineries (the largest of Iran’s four refineries) out of action, would cut off the gasoline supply to Iranian motorists and industry, and force the government to draw on its energy reserves for military use.

A US blitz against Kharg Island and the Lavan group of islands in the Persian Gulf to knock out Iran’s main oil export terminals.

Now Armanijad's strategy
If the Americans want to follow through on their military option, says the Iranian president, the sooner the better. The Revolutionary Guards are already poised to strike back at Saudi and Arab Gulf oil installations and the oil tankers passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

Shutting down the pipeline of Oil
and nuclear facilities are probably a after thought

But its pretty obvious that many respect the Russian General because he is trying to warn Bush back off stupid

Amazing times ahead

3. Russian General is Yury Baluyevsky,f
Yury Baluyevsky, head of the armed forces' general staff
an attack would have global implications.
winning is unachievable – its reverberations would be heard across the world.

the world may see America decline as “the world’s mightiest and most powerful state.”

is this ominous or what
God Bless our troops everyone of them

4. He is right and it doesn't take a military minded person to figure that out.
All it takes is for someone to think about it for awhile. He is right, no way we can beat Iran in a land war and it would never lead to victory. Iraq and Afghanistan and Vietnam and Korea kinda prove that. Americans don't occupy places for very long...well we didn't in the past. Dunno about Bush/Cheney.

6. Blair: Next two days critical for resolving crisis over naval crew
http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/845022.html

Wonder why two days???

British Prime Minister Tony Blair said Tuesday that the next two days are fairly critical to resolving the dispute over the seized British navy crew, after Iran's chief international negotiator offered a new approach to end the standoff with Tehran.

"The next 48 hours will be fairly critical," Blair told Scotland's Real Radio. He said Iranian negotiator Ali Larijani's suggestion of talks offered hope of an end to the crisis. "If they want to resolve this in a diplomatic way the door is open," the prime minister said.

Earlier, Larijani said Iran sought to solve the problem through proper diplomatic channels and proposed having a delegation determine whether British forces had strayed into Iranian territory in the Persian Gulf. He did not say what sort of delegation he had in mind.
