good comments on BBC website regarding British Sailors Freed:
Of course diplomacy worked, it was a diplomatic incident.

Now we can sit back for a while and count ourselves lucky all those raving loons on HYS didn't get their pound of flesh by nuking Tehran

- at least until the cowards find another bogeyman to live in fear of.

Colin Campbell, Stockholm, Sweden

----------------------------------------------------

o let me get this right, they've been released despite us not declaring war on Iran, sending in the SAS, nuking them, bombing their cities, sinking their ships, starting sanctions, getting the UN involved, getting the US involved or anyone being hurt or dying? The vast majority of people have been shouting for at least one of these options over the past couple of days, yet a bit of diplomacy has worked, well fancy that! It probably makes
those war mongering people feel pretty stupid!

, Devon, United Kingdom

Great, diplomacy worked, as expected.
Always takes a while when two countries are so at odds with each other in many different areas.

No need for violence to "resolve" the situation.

I congratulate the people with common sense who resolved this situation behind the scenes, Iranian and UK.

Brentus Maximus, Liverpool, EUROPE

------------------------------------------------------

It's a good thing we didn't go with the more bellicose suggestions about bombing or nuking Iran, then.
This is excellent news.
Now, Mr Blair, bring the rest of them home too.

-----------------------------------------------------

So Irans not as bad as everybody thinks. The soldiers were treated humanely and not as US treated people in Abu Gharib. And now they are being released instead of killing them as US did. So infact Irans better than US.

Amit, Delhi

-----------------------------------------------------

It was expected. After all they were not captured by CIA and sent to Camp X-ray. Their release was only a matter of time.

1. Sadly, each one of these comments reveals how unfavorably the
U.S. is viewed around the world. As a nation, we have lost so much credibility with the Bush administration at the helm.
