Help?

I need some help from fellow DU'ers.

My (Dem) sister and her (Rep) husband are big Washington insiders. They were having dinner with a Republican "heavy-weight" (my sister refused to tell me his name because she knows that I post on liberal sites like DU). They had a wonderful time up until the end of the evening when this unnamed "heavyweight" informed them that Obama was not born in the US. (Can you believe this shit?)

My sister and her husband were shocked that he would believe that. (Apparently, this guy went into a whole speech about it and how the journalists know it but are covering it up.)

My sis has asked me to provide her with sources so that she can disprove his claim. I told her he could go into a library and see the microfilm from the Hawaiian paper that printed his birth announcement. I heard that exists. She said she needs "stuff like that".

She doesn't ask me for help on this sort of thing very often because she thinks that my views are just so "out there". I'd like to help her on this one, but I am so overworked right now that I can't research this. I just don't have time. So, I am asking those who have already been down this road if they have links to info that I can forward to her.

Can anyone help me help her? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

The murder of Dr. Tiller is, I have this bad feeling, just the beginning of some really awful stuff. We laughed at the teabaggers, but I think there are people out there who see this killer as a hero, and others who will view it all as a signal to go violent.

Can you imagine what Obama's protection must be like? And his family's?

Our America in 2009. I'm having a hard time believing any of this ......................

15. I suppose if everything I did turned out to be self destructive I'd be troubled too.

Then again, I'd like to think that we're a little self correcting.

If any freak out happens it will be isolated incidents.

I don't know much about the guy they arrested but if he's white, single/divorced, with no kids (or never sees them), few friends, dead-end job, and in his late 50s/60s. I won't be surprised. Not to pigeonhole (lots of good folks in that demographics) but that's the kind of social backward desparate loners I am seeing. Isolated incidents seemingly, but egged on by a portion of the media bent on outraging those who have little/no hope or love let alone outside input.

My bro-in-law has been known to work with him pretty closely in the past. They had a falling out a few years ago, but I think that's water under the bridge now. I really don't know who it was.
