Stephen Baldwin's foreclosed home to be auctioned

NEW YORK – Actor Stephen Baldwin's foreclosed home in the suburbs north of New York City will be publicly auctioned.

Baldwin paid $515,000 for the 1.4-acre home in Rockland County in 1997. In 2006, he tried unsuccessfully to sell it.

County filings show Baldwin and his wife Kennya defaulted on more than $824,000 in payments to mortgage holder Bankers Trust Co.

The auction is set for June 24.

A representative for Baldwin couldn't be reached for comment.

The actor has starred in movies such as "Bio-Dome" and "The Usual Suspects." Recently, he's appeared on reality television shows "The Celebrity Apprentice" and "I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!"

3. wait - he owned a 500k home for 12 years and now owes 825k on it?
How on earth did he manage THAT? I owe *less* on my home every year, not more.... Guess that must be some brilliant republican strategery he's got going there...

7. I am not taking any joy in this ..........
No, really, I'm not.

Why am I smirking?

Well, that's because Chris Matthews just said something funny on "Hardball." And because I scratched this itch on my elbow, and it felt SO good.

But, this man's family out of their home, well, that's just awful. Terrible. His work with Breakthrough Ministries has been so .......... what?

Wait.

Oh, it's gone out of business?

Oh.

OK, then.

Well, his acting career has been stellar, and he's been appearing in such outstanding films as "BioDome," which came out in 1996.

Really?

Thirteen years ago?

Oh.

No, I'm not smirking. I just read today's "Garfield," and you know, that darn cat is just a riot. Dr. House was right.

So, Stephen Baldwin didn't pay his mortgage. Well, that's not good. Isn't that sort of one of the Seven Deadly Sin? Or the Ten Commandments? Or one of those lists of things you're not supposed to do - take money and not pay it back?

Anyway, he led the charge to prevent an adult bookstore from opening in Nyack, NY, so it's not like he's been doing nothing.

And there is the Antioch Ministries, whose stated purpose is "to facilitate the gifts and calling of Stephen Baldwin."<[br />
Doesn't that make you feel better?

So, all we know now is that Stephen, who identifies himself as a pro-choice, conservative Republican Christian, has lost his home for not paying his mortgage. Is that what they call a "deadbeat"? Just wondering.

No, that's not a smirk. It's more of a grimace of pain from biting the inside of my cheek so that I don't smirk ...................

8. hm ... what was all that drivel about "minorities" who buy more house than they
can afford? Something about how they don't read their contracts? That they're too stupid to know how things work?

Guess it's true ...

10. and the brother was "quoted" by his (now) ex-wife as saying he'd leave the country
never proven ... but then, the ex-wife left him not long afterward ... so was she really quoting him, or was she trying to get into RWers' good graces? ...
